6. Instructions for use
6.1. Firing
6.1.1. General operation with the j key
⇒ Start the firing process by pressing the j key; the firing in progress is indicated by the “Program running”
indicator above the
j key.
⇒ End the firing process at any time by pressing the
j key again, and the “Program running” indicator above
the
j key goes out.
⇒ Restart the firing process by pressing the
j key. When restarting, the firing program will start from the
beginning again.
⇒ After a restart, you can use the program advance function (see Section 6.1.4) to skip the individual steps in
the program until you are back at the desired segment.
6.1.2. Operation using the j key during firing
• If the j key is pressed during firing, it will be halted (not paused).
• Press the
j key again, and the firing process will start again from the beginning of the firing program. The
controller will look at the current kiln temperature, and if this is greater than the required soak temperature,
then it will automatically cool from the current temperature to the soak temperature. Since this process may
not be desired, the
j key should only be used to abort the firing process in an emergency.
• The program can be paused, or program data can be changed while the controller is firing. This procedure is
preferable to using the
j key.
6.1.3. Program delay “t
0
”
You can use the program delay “t
0
” or program delay to start the firing program with a time delay (at a specific time).
⇒ You can set the program delay when programming the firing program.
⇒ Alternatively, you can enter or change the program delay directly after starting a program, provided that you
have not yet entered a program delay during programming and the program delay is “00.00”. To do this,
start the firing program by pressing the
j key and then pressing the O key. “00.00” appears on the main
display, and you can now use the
d and f keys to set the program delay until the firing starts.
⇒ If necessary, you can skip the set program delay and start the firing process directly by selecting the
program advance function
Y (see the following section).
⇒ For technical reasons, there is a dot between the hours and minutes in the display and not a colon, as is
usually the case with times.
Note:
The program delay for the delayed start for each firing process is set to “00.00” in the factory.
6.1.4. Program advance function Y
• Press and hold the Y key for 3 seconds to switch to the program advance function during firing.
• The controller will emit a short beep and immediately advances the program by one step.
• The effect of this is as follows:
- If ramping, the controller switches to the next ramp phase, to the soak phase or ends the firing at the
current kiln temperature.
- If soaking, then the controller will advance to the cooling phase, or else it will end the firing.
• These program changes only affect the firing in progress and are not saved.
