Getting Started
Setting up your cash register consists of the following steps:
1 U npacking the cash register
2 Plugging the cash register into a power source
3 Turning on the cash register by pressing the Main menu (on) key.
4 Setting the L anguage
5 I nstalling the M emory Backup Batteries
6 I nstalling the Paper R oll
7 Setting the D ate A nd T ime
8 Programming the Sales Tax
Do all the steps and follow the detailed instructions shown on the cash
register display to make sure your cash register is set up correctly.

Getting Started
Because the A lpha 1000M L has a 5-line L C D screen, you are prompted
through setup after you plug in the cash register. T his chapter helps you
understand what the setup options are as you are walked through the setup.
