Maintenance and Options
Follow these steps to make sure your cash register works well.
Your register must remain uncovered when turned on. T his allows the
electronic components to properly cool.
Use a dust cover when the register is not in operation and the cash register
is set to the O F F position to protect mechanical components from dust.
K eep beverages and other liquids away from the machine to avoid spills
which can damage electronic components. Use the optional protective
keytop cover to prevent damage to the cash register, especially in
restaurants and other locations where food and drinks are sold or
prepared.
K eep the cash register away from dust, dampness, or extreme hot or cold
temperatures.
To clean your cash register, use a soft dry cloth. Do not use harsh solutions
containing alcohol or ammonia.
A fter storing your cash register in extreme temperatures (below 32 degrees
Fahrenheit or above 104 degrees Fahrenheit), allow the temperature inside
the machine enough time to reach room temperature before turning it on.
I f you need electronic service, take the cash register to a R oyal authorized
service center. For more information, see M anufacturers L imited
Warranty on page 126.
Do not attempt to open or repair the cash register yourself. T here are no
end-user serviceable parts in the cash register and it should only be opened
or serviced by an authorized service representative. A ttempting to service
the cash register yourself voids the warranty and may permanently
damage the cash register.
