Programming PLU Descriptions
2 Press the Arrow Down key to select Programming. Press the Amount
Tend Total <Enter> key.
3 I f you are prompted for a M anager Passcode, type the passcode number
and then press the Check key. I f you did not program a M anager
Passcode, go to the next step.
4 Press the Arrow Down key to select M ore O ptions. Press the Amount
Tend Total <Enter> key.
5 Press the Arrow Down key to select System O ptions. Press the Amount
Tend Total <Enter> key.
6 Select 1. K ey L ayout and press the Amount Tend Total <Enter> key.
Note
To stop using Department 15 and/or Department 16 as credit keys, select
Normal Layout.
7 Follow the instructions on the screen. W hen you are done, press the
Amount Tend Total <Enter> key.
Programming PLU Descriptions
T he Price-L ook U p system allows for fast, accurate entry of an item and
automatically records the number of items sold. I f you want to use the
optional barcode reader, you can scan U PC codes to ring up items.
To scan barcodes, they must be numeric only, 13 digits or less, and must
be one of the following barcode types and standards:

This cash register cannot generate barcodes for you. To generate and print
barcodes, purchase barcode software.
E ach P L U must be programmed with up to a 12 character description that
appears on the display and prints on the tape. You can have up to 5000
PL U items programmed.
Programming PL U s consists of the following:
1 A ssign a PL U number (from 1 to a maximum of 13 digits long) to each
sales item or scan the barcode.
2 E nter a name description for the PL U . You must enter a description,
even if it is as simple as PLU4.
C redit 1 = Dept 16 key
C redit 2 = Dept 15 key
