4.3.4.1.4 Dual-channel switching relay output with external monitoring - collective feedback
For safety applications from PL d according to EN ISO 13849-1, two relays are used in the
PSC1-C-100 module and two external contactors.

The two external monitoring contacts are connected in series, supplied with pulse signal T0 and
read by I00 (configured as EMU input). With increased requirements, it must be noted that at
least 1 switching process must take place at least every 24 hours.
Safety instructions:
• An adequately high test rate is required to achieve PL e according to EN ISO 13849-1.
• For applications with frequent demand for the safety shutdown, testing should be at
short intervals, e.g. at the start of the shift, 1 x per week. However, a test should be
undertaken cyclically at least 1 x per year.
