Methanol for Liquid
Chromatography
Used to dilute 2 AU and 0.5 AU caffeine solutions.
Caffeine dissolved in LC methanol
(Concentration: 90 mg/L, Absorbance: approx. 4
AU)
2.0 AU caffeine/methanol
solution
Caffeine dissolved in LC methanol
(Concentration: 44 mg/L, Absorbance: approx. 2
AU)
*Record the weight of the caffeine actually
dissolved.
0.5 AU caffeine/methanol
solution
2.0 AU caffeine/methanol solution is diluted to 1/4
concentration using LC methanol.
(Concentration: 11 mg/L, Absorbance: approx. 0.5
AU)
*Dilution method
Use a 250 mL measuring flask to measure out 2.0
AU caffeine/methanol solution into a 1 L
measuring flask, and add LC methanol to create a
total volume of 1 L. Measuring flasks used to
create 0.5 AU and 2.0 AU solutions should be
specialized for that purpose.
For weighing the caffeine.
Disposable syringes (2 mL)
Adaptors for disposable
syringes
Male nuts (PEEK), couplings, etc.
