6.10 Version Upgrade
There are 2 ways to upgrade the SPD-M20A, one via a LAN and the other via RS-232C
connection. If the SPD-M20A is connected to a network, the upgrade can be performed via
the LAN, and if this method presents problems or if there is no network, the upgrade can be
performed via RS-232C connection.
< Upgrade by Way of LAN >
1) Referring to the Instruction Manual "Chapter 5 Application Operation", connect both
the instrument to be upgraded and a PC to the network. If they are already connected
to a network, no changes are necessary.
2) Turn ON the instrument.
The status indicator on the front of the instrument lights up green. Wait for the D2 and
W LED lamps to stop blinking.
3) Open the SPD-M20A IP address using a Web browser, entering
" http:// (SPD-M20A IP address)/ ".
If the IP address is "192.168.200.98", enter "http:// 192.168.200.98".
4) Enter the user name and password to log into the instrument.
User name: administrator
Password: the password assigned for the administrator (default value is
"pdaadmin").
5) When the Administrator's screen appears, press the "Upgrade Version" button at the
top right of the screen.
6) A screen is displayed for indicating the file to be loaded.
Press the Browse button, select the appropriate version upgrade file, and press the
[OK] button.
