MODBUS interface
Das COM16-Modul ist mit einer 2-Draht-RS485-Schnittstelle ausge-
stattet. Der MODBUS-Anschluß ist eine 9-polige D-Sub-Buchse mit
f
olgender Belegung:
Write Enable - Eingang
Das COM16-Modul verfügt über einen Eingang, der aktiviert wer-
den muss, damit das Modul Fernsteuerung und Fernparametrie-
rung akzeptiert. Wenn der Eingang nicht aktiv ist, dann werden alle
ank
ommenden Telegramme, die den Status der Modul-Ausgängen
(Öffnen/Schließen des Schalters) oder Schutzparameter verändern,
verworfen oder ignoriert. Das Polling und Lesen von Daten ist davon
nicht betroffen.
Die folgenden Kommandos sind bei inaktivem "Write Enable"-Ein-
gang blockiert:

MODBUS interface
The COM16 module is equipped with a 2-wire RS485 interface. The
MODBUS connector is a 9-pin female Sub-D connector with the fol-
lowing pinout:
Write Enable Input
The COM16 Module is equipped with an input that must be activa-
ted to allow the module to accept remote control commands as well
as
remote parameterization. When this input is not active, the
module will reject all incoming packets that would normally change
the state of an output (open/close breaker) or change protective
parameters. Normal polling and communication of data is not affec-
ted.
The following commands are blocked if the Write Enable input is
i
nactive:
- breaker open/close
- reset after a trip
- change any protective parameter including protective relaying
par
ameters
- change any communications parameter (e.g.: address)
- change any parameter of the metering function (e.g.: demand
per
iod length)
- reset any diagnostic or service-related counter or indicator
- change the state of any binary or relay output of an output

The following commands are always allowed independent of the

ate of the Write Enable input:
- change and set the trigger settings of the waveform capture

- read the contents of the waveform buffer
- change alarm and setpoint settings
- change any of the customer-changeable text strings
- reset the min/max log
- change the state of the free output of the COM16
- set system time
