6.7 Evaluable encoders
The technical data of the evaluable encoder can be found in the following chapters.
You can use all of the encoder connections as position encoders. Master encoders may be
connected only to connection X4A or X101. The use as a motor encoder depends on which
encoder design is required by your motor and supported by the encoder connection.
6.7.1 Overview
The following table explains which connections are available for the various encoders.
Encoders Connection Note
EnDat 2.1 digital X4
EnDat 2.2 digital X4
SSI X4
Incremental TTL X4 TTL signals, differential
Incremental HTL X4 With HT6 adapter for level conversion: HTL
signals, differential
X101 HTL signals, single-ended
X103 HTL signals, single-ended
HTL pulse and direction X101 HTL signals, single-ended
X103 HTL signals, differential

6.7.2 Signal transmission
The following signal levels apply to single-ended signal transmission:
Signal level HTL, single-ended
Low level 0to8V
DC
High level 15to30V
DC
The following signal levels are valid for differential signal transmission:
Signal level Differential HTL Differential TTL to X4
(RS422 standard)
Low level −30 to −4.2V
DC
−6 to −0.2V
DC
High level 4.2 to 30V
DC
0.2 to 6V
