12.2.2 Event 31: Short/ground
The drive controller is interrupted:
§ The power unit is disabled and axis movement is no longer controlled by the drive controller
§ The brakes are no longer controlled by the drive controller and engage in the event of an inactive release override
(F06)
The brake chopper is disabled.
Cause Check and action
Connection error at the motor Check the connection and correct it if necessary
Defective motor cable Check the cable and replace it if necessary
Braking resistor too low Check the maximum permitted braking resistor power loss for the application and
replace the braking resistor if necessary
Short-circuit in the motor winding Check the motor and replace it if necessary
Short-circuit in the braking resistor Check the braking resistor and replace it if necessary
Short-circuit/ground fault inside
the device
Check whether the fault occurs when switching on the power unit and replace the
drive controller if necessary
