CYLINDER HEAD
• Install the dowel pins 1 into the cylinder and then install the
cylinder head gasket 2 onto the cylinder.
• Place the cylinder head 3 on the cylinder.
• Apply engine oil to the washers and thread portion of the bolts
before installing the cylinder head bolts.
• With the cylinder head snugly seated on the cylinder, secure it
by tightening the cylinder head bolts 5 in diagonal stages.
• Tighten the cylinder head bolts 5 to the specified torque.
Cylinder head bolt: Initial 25 N·m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.0 lbf-ft)
Final 51 N·m (5.1 kgf-m, 37.0 lbf-ft)
• After tightening the cylinder head bolts to specification, tighten
the cylinder head base nuts 6 and cylinder base bolt 7 to the
specified torque.
Cylinder head base nut: 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.0 lbf-ft)
Cylinder base bolt: 12 N·m (1.2 kgf-m, 8.5 lbf-ft)
• Install the engine mounting upper brackets. (5-6)
• Connect the ECT sensor coupler.
• Connect the radiator hose. (20-24)
• Install the exhaust pipe. (5-9, -10)
• Install the throttle body. (13-15)
• Install the TO sensor.
Replace the cylinder head gasket 2 with a new one.
Do not drop the cam chain 4 into the crankcase.
