COOLING SYSTEM 14-9
INSTALLATION
Install the water pump in the reverse order of removal. Pay
attention to the following points:
OIL SEAL
• Press the oil seal 1 with the suitable size socket wrench.
• Check engine oil flow before installing the water pump shaft.
1 Oil seal
2 Right crankcase cover
• Apply a small quantity of grease to the oil seal lips.
99000-25010: SUZUKI SUPER GREASE “A”
or equivalent
WATER PUMP IMPELLER AND WATER PUMP SHAFT
• Apply engine oil to the water pump shaft 1.
• Hold the water pump shaft with a wrench and tighten the
water pump impeller 2 to the specified torque.
Water pump impeller: 8 N·m (0.8 kgf-m, 6.0 lbf-ft)
Replace the oil seal 1 with a new one.
* Make sure that engine oil flows to the bearing part of
oil seal as shown in the illustration.
* If the oil does not flow, replace the oil seal with a new
one again.
