Suzuki RM-Z250 - Inspection

8-4 KICK STARTER
• Remove the wave washer 9.
• Unhook the end of return spring 0.
• Remove the kick starter shaft assembly A.
• Remove the following parts from the kick starter shaft assem-
bly A.
Starter shaft B Washer G
Return spring C Snap ring H
Spring guide D Spring I
Washer E Kick starter J
Kick starter drive gear F
 09900-06107: Snap ring remover (Open type)
• Remove the kick starter guide L by removing its bolt K.
INSPECTION
• Inspect the oil seal lip A for wear and damage.
• If any defects are found, replace the oil seal with a new one.
• Inspect the kick starter drive gear teeth for damage.
• Inspect the kick starter drive gear ratchet part for wear and
damage.
• Inspect the kick starter shaft and drive gear for contact sur-
face wear.
• Inspect the return spring for damage.
• If necessary, replace the defective parts with a new one.
