2-24 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
ENGINE IDLE SPEED
• Adjust the throttle cable play. (2-21)
• Warm up the engine.
NOTE:
Make this adjustment when the engine is hot.
• Insert the needle-pointed probe to the lead wire coupler
(W/Bl).
• Connect the engine tachometer to the needle-pointed probe.
 09900-25009: Needle-pointed probe set
09900-26006: Engine tachometer
• Start the engine, turn the starter knob/idle screw 1 and set
the engine idle speed as follows.
 Engine idle speed: 2 100 ± 50 r/min
CRANKCASE BREATHER HOSE
• Inspect the crankcase breather hose for damage, clogging
and bend. If any defects are found, the breather hose must be
replaced.
FUEL HOSE
• Inspect the fuel hose for damage and fuel leakage. If any
defects are found, the fuel hose must be replaced.
• Replace the fuel hose every four years.
