13 SMS GATEWAY
Your ECOTEL allows you to send and receive SMS messages. The following SMS functions are possible with this
feature package:
E-mail to SMS
SMS to e-mail
SMS to SMS
Sending announcements using e-mail
SIP message to SMS
Sending automatic SMS messages for unconnected calls
Sending the caller’s OAD in an SMS message
13.1 E-MAIL TO SMS
Your ECOTEL allows you to convert e-mail messages to SMS messages. Send an e-mail to your ECOTEL via SMTP
using any e-mail client. The ECOTEL converts the e-mail into an SMS message and sends it to the mobile network.
The ECOTEL can be configured so that you receive a confirmation that your text message was sent. The mobile
network delivers the message to the recipient and, optionally, informs you that it was delivered.
Configuration
To use this function, you must first set the SMSC parameter in the Subscriber line in the pabx.cfg file.
Please refer to Table 5.16 on page 64 for an explanation.
The following configuration is done in the
[Mail] section in the pabx.cfg file. For an explanation of the pa-
rameters, please see Chapter 5.2.2 on page 71 .
1. These settings are necessary for communication between the ECOTEL and your e-mail client, to send con-
firmation e-mails for SMS message transmission:
[Mail]
SmtpServer=<ip addr>
MailRcpt=<domain>
MailFrom=<domain>
2. The following limits are set for the ECOTEL’s SMTP server:
MaxMailsToHost=<count>
MailMaxIncomingClients=<count>
MailRcvMax=<count>
MailRcptMax=<count>
3. The following settings are needed for the transmission status and delivery confirmation:
MailSMSSendStatus=Yes (default)
MailSMSDeliveryConfirmation=Yes (default)
