OPTICAL INTERFACE
In the context of applications like Smart Grids, it is possible to add an expansion card with two SFP
transceivers for Fast Ethernet Fiber Optic.
MODALITÀ SWITCH
Functionally, the expansion extends the optical switch with two optical ports additional fx0 and
fx1, on which you can work through commands such as switch set <options>.
In particular, to configure an optical port of Imola to operate in access mode, use the command:
set switch port fx0|fx1 mode access
You also need to bind a VLAN id to the port, which will be used for the tagging of inbound packets:
set switch port fx0|fx1 vid <value>
To configure an optical port to operate in trunk mode, use the command:
set switch port fx0|fx1 mode trunk
To operate in trunk mode and accept the native frame, use the command:
set switch port fx0|fx1 mode hybrid
In this case you must specify the ids of VLANs enabled through the door:
set switch port fx0|fx1 allow vid <value>
A command is required for each enabled VLAN ids.
To disable an optical port, use the command:
set switch port fx0|fx1 shut
while to re-enable it, use the command:
set switch port fx0|fx1 no-shut
In order for the configuration set to become operational, you should give the command:
set switch on
To remove the configuration of an optical port, use the command:
set switch no-port fx0|fx1
To view the configuration of an optical port, use the command:
show switch status
To view the statistic counters of an optical port using the command:
show switch port fx0|fx1 counters
To view the port status, use the command:
show switch port fx0|fx1 diagnostic
To display the VLAN membership
show switch port fx0|fx1 vlan
