set bgp ip prefix-list ToPeerBGP description Announced routes to Neighbor
set bgp ip prefix-list ToPeerBGP seq 10 permit 172.20.1.221/32
set bgp ip prefix-list ToPeerBGP seq 20 permit 10.45.15.192/27
defines a route-map for outbound announces sent to the neighbor which decides to announce only
addresses defined by ip prefix-list ToPeerBGP and to add to each announce the AS value
defined by the rule set as-path prepend <ASN>.
The route-map:
set bgp neighbor 88.58.10.245 route-map FromPeerBGP in
set bgp route-map FromPeerBGP permit 10 match as-path 10
set bgp route-map FromPeerBGP permit 10 set local-preference 140
set bgp ip as-path access-list 10 permit _65210_
assigns a local-preference value of 140 ads to announcements defined by IP as-path. This function
is particularly useful in case of BGP sessions towards different neighbors.
Default route announced with BGP
The default route can be announced by using the option:
set bgp neighbor 88.58.10.245 default-originate
Connected network redistribution with BGP
By using the command set bgp network A.B.C.D/N (or set bgp network A.B.C.D/N), the
network A.B.C.D/N will be announced in an indiscriminate manner, regardless of its status.
It is possible to configure the BGP in order to announce the directly connected networks only if they
are really available:
set bgp local-as 65201
set bgp neighbor 88.58.10.245 remote-as 3269
set bgp neighbor 88.58.10.245 description eBGP
set bgp redistribute connected route-map ConnBGP
set bgp route-map ConnBGP permit 10 match ip address prefix-list LocNet
set bgp ip prefix-list LocNet seq 10 permit 10.45.15.192/27
set bgp ip prefix-list LocNet seq 10 permit 172.20.1.221/32
Since both the LAN and the loopback interface are active, the announced routes are:
root@IMOLA> show ip bgp neighbor 88.58.10.245 advertised-routes
BGP table version is 0, local router ID is 172.20.1.221
Status codes: s suppressed, d damped, h history, * valid, > best, i - internal, r RIB-
failure, S Stale, R Removed
Origin codes: i - IGP, e - EGP, ? - incomplete
