The commands that use encrypted passwords are prefixed with ‘crypted-„ (see example). You can
restore a configuration with passwords in clear mode by typing the command with the plaintext
passwords or resetting the module to the factory configuration.
Login/password PPP configuration:
set ppp login pppuser password tiesse
set crypted-passwords on
show config current
...
set ppp login pppuser crypted-password 6XY4+Gzy
Configuration of a RADIUS server:
set radius authhost 1.2.3.4
set radius secret 1.2.3.4 mypassword
set radius on
executing
set crypted-passwords on
show config current radius
you will get the follow display:
set radius authhost 1.2.3.4
set radius crypted-secret 1.2.3.4 0V6Povfs4/Q=
set radius on
Using the command „set radius crypted-secret 1.2.3.4 0V6Povfs4/Q=‟ on any Tiesse's
router, it will recognize and automatically encrypt the secret 'mypassword' for the RADIUS server
1.2.3.4.
To restore the plain mode you need to reset the module configuration:
restore factory radius
