3.9 MEDIA ACCESS PARAMETERS
3.9.1 MAC_TIMESLOTS_IN_FRAME
Default 16, Range 2…240
HUB: Sets the number of Media Access timeslots in a frame.
Note: When HUB is connected to NMS, this MIB variable will be replaced by the value
configured in the NMS ‘Static Slot Access Schemes’ window.
RT: Not Used – The CURRENT number of timeslots in a frame is distributed from HUB to all RTs
in every
SYNC packet.
3.9.2 MAC_ACCESS_SCHEME
Default 0, Range 0…3
HUB: Sets the Access-Scheme to be used on Inbound carrier.
Note: When HUB is connected to NMS, the CURRENT value will be replaced by the value
configured in the NMS ‘Static Slot Access Schemes’ window. In this case, the following
assignments are normally used:
Value Description
0
When you select to use a single Static Access-Scheme on Inbound carrier, this will
normally be Access-Scheme-0 (but any Access-Scheme-0…3 could be used).
When you select to use Dynamic Access-Scheme on Inbound carrier, this will also
normally be Access-Scheme-0 (but any Access-Scheme-0…1 could be used).
Access-Scheme-0 will always be used when Inbound load is below
defined limit, and the
Maximum Inbound Load
option in NMS ‘Network Behaviour’ window is enabled.
1
Access-Scheme-1 will always be used when Inbound load is above
defined limit, and the
Maximum Inbound Load
option in NMS ‘Network Behaviour’ window is enabled.
2
3
Normally Not Used – In the future they may be used in Multi-Inbound-Link (MIL)
networks.
RT: Not Used – The CURRENT Access-Scheme to be used is distributed from HUB to all RTs in
every
SYNC packet.
