Ver <= 30.5.0: Default –1, Range –100.000…+100.000
Ver >= 30.6.0: Default 3000, Range –100.000…+100.000
Set the transmission time for a data packet from CCU to DSP. The MAC_TIMESLOT_MARGIN is
expressed in micro-seconds before the time when the DSP is sending the packet on the satellite
link.
Normally, it’s recommended to use a value of approx. 3000 micro-seconds, as this will give the
CCU a fair change to process the request for Tx-Data, and send them to DSP, in good time
before packet is sent on the satellite link. If this point of time coincides with the point of time CCU
is receiving packets from DSP, another value may be preferred.
RT Ver >= 30.6.0
The minimum
MAC_TIMESLOT_MARGIN) is PHL_INBOUND_GUARDPERIOD + 3000 [us].
This applies when
MAC_TIMESLOT_MARGIN > 0. No restrictions when value is <= 0.
Why minimum value?
To implement the “Local Tx-gain Control” (see
GAIN_TX_REF), it’s necessary to fetch the Tx-
Detector at the point of time when the unit actually is transmitting. Since RT is only
transmitting now and then, it’s important to synchronize the fetching of Tx-Detector to the
sending of packet. This minimum value of
MAC_TIMESLOT_MARGIN will ensure the correct
point of time.
