TSAT 3000 Configuration Parameter Description, January 2013 Page 63 of 124
Ver == 30.0.0
In addition to access granted by current Access-Scheme, the next slot after receiving
SYNC and POLL packets are reserved to the polled RT. It will always reply with POLL_ACK,
or other packet if any packets waiting for transmission.
Ver >= 30.1.0
In addition to access granted by current Access-Scheme, some slots may also be
reserved to a specific RT. Other RTs will not send in such reserved slots.
A) The next
slot will be reserved to an RT when receiving any of the following packets:
SYNC
POLL
LINK_RESET
LINK_ACK
REJECT
MANAGEMENT_DATA – When Secure-Link.
USER_DATA – When Secure-Link + Option bit 4 (0x0010) in
UTL_UTILITY_MASK.
INFO_ACK – When Secure-Link + Option bit 4 (0x0010) in
UTL_UTILITY_MASK.
B) Slots reserved by the “Management Slot Reservation (MSR) Facility”, as described by
LCC_MANAGEMENT_PRIORITY.
C) Slots reserved by the “Pulse Position Reservation (PPR) Facility”, as described by
PHL_SLOT_PHASE_MODE – Ver >= 30.3.0.
D) Slots reserved by the “Slot Request and Reservation (SRR) Facility”, as described by
MAC_SLOT_REQ_RSV – Ver >= 31.5.0.

Default 0, Range 0…255 – Array of Bytes
HUB and RT Ver <= 30.6.0
Not Used
RT Ver >= 30.6.1
The RT’s slot access is controlled by both “Allowance and Priority” AND “Source of Data”.
Both requirements must be fulfilled, in order for the RT to send a packet. I.e. the packet must
have a Priority >= the priority of the current slot in Slot Access Schemes [0, 1, 2, or 3]
(
MAC_SLOT_MAP_{0 | 1 | 2 | 3}), AND the source (i.e. PORT) of the packet must match the
allowed source-of-data of the current slot. The latter is given by Slot Access Scheme 4
(
MAC_SLOT_MAP_PORT).
MAC_SLOT_MAP_PORT is an array of 1 … MAC_TIMESLOTS_IN_FRAME bytes, where each
element represents the allowed source-of-data for the corresponding Inbound slot. Following
legal values are:
Value Source of Data
0 No restriction – All kind of packets allowed.
1 … 64 Only packets from the specified PORT 1 to 64 are allowed to be sent in this slot.
65 … 127 n/a
128 … 254
0x80 … 0xFE
The lower 7 bits represent a bit-map of PORT 1 to 7.
Only packets from one of the specified PORTs are allowed to be sent in this slot.
Example: 0x83 = Allow packets from PORT 1 and PORT 2 – Not from any other.
255 Only packets from local Management module are allowed to be sent in this slot.
