3.11.12 PHL_SLOT_PHASE_DELAY
Default –1, Range –1…64
HUB: Not Used.
RT: In networks with small MAC_TIMESLOT_LENGTH and RTs located very far away from each
other, it might be necessary to delay the sending from RTs one or more slots. The Access-
Scheme function (see
MAC_SLOT_MAP_{0 | 1 | 2 | 3}) and Pulse-Position-Reservation (PPR)
facility (see
PHL_SLOT_PHASE_MODE) require that Round-Trip Delay is exactly the same
number of slots to/from all
RTs.
Value Description
–1
Auto adjusts
PHL_SLOT_PHASE_DELAY, so that this RT will end up with
exactly the same Round-Trip Delay (measured in slots) as all the other RTs.
Ver <= 30.3.1: This function isn’t implemented, and RT will be
instructed to not
delay the sending any slots.
Ver >= 30.4.0: This function is implemented, but cannot be utilized
because of some bugs in both HUB and RT.
Ver >= 30.5.0: Function is implemented, and erriors corrected.
RT Ver >= 31.0.0: Further improvements.
HUB Ver >= 31.1.0: Further improvements.
0 Don’t delay sending from RTs.
1 … 64 Delay RT sending the specified (fixed) number of slots.
Example: Delay to satellite is approx 125 ms in North Africa and approx 131 ms in Oslo. It will
be necessary to add at least one slot when ( 2 x difference ) = 12 ms >=
MAC_TIMESLOT_LENGTH.
28 bytes Outbound Packet Size @ 64 kbps give approx. 5 ms Slot-Length, and you should
therefore add 12 / 5 = 3 slots to the RT located in North Africa.
