This safety chapter is designed to answer those questions as they pertain to using the
MRIdian system. The chapter is organized into the following sections: General Safety, MR
Safety, Radiation Safety, Electrical Safety, Treatment Room Safety and Emergency Procedures.
To ensure your safety and the safety of your patients, it is very important that you read this
chapter and familiarize yourself with the system and its safety requirements and precau-
tions.
2.1.1 Definition of Hazard Levels and Symbols
Danger indicates a major hazard situation which presents a highly
probable threat of serious injury or death.
Warning indicates a potentially hazardous situation, which, if not
avoided, has the potential to result in serious injury or death.
Caution indicates a potentially hazardous situation which may
result in minor to moderate injury.
NOTE indicates an important reminder or message not related to personal
injury.
General warning. Indicates an important consideration when using the
system.
Indicates a magnetic field alert.
