Remove your patient from the treatment room.
Close the treatment room door.
Contact your RSO and follow your facility
’s Emergency Response Plan.
Contact ViewRay Service.
If the gantry control system is also inoperable and does not move the stuck
source to the loading position, a mechanical retraction procedure can be
initia
ted. This should only be done with consultation and oversight by your
facility's RSO. This procedure is described in "Mechanical Source Retraction
Procedure” on page 447 which is provided as an attachment to this manual.
The provided non-magnetic Allen wrench needed for this procedure must be
k
ept close to the treatment room entrance at all times.
2.22 Using the E-Stop in an Emergency
Pressing the E-Stop will retract the sources to the locked, fully shielded position, and stop any
patient couch movement. There are four E-Stop buttons in the treatment room and one on
the Treatment Control Panel.
The E-Stop must be reset after use. Turn the knob clockwise to reset.
