Chapter 10: Quality Assurance
Below is an example of a spatial integrity analysis. The inner pink circle is 20 cm
diameter with a 1 mm error threshold. The outer pink circle is 35 cm diameter with a 2
mm error threshold. The + signs are the detected marker locations. Green + signs pass,
red fails, yellow are outside the region. Blue circles are where the markers are
supposed to be, and the text below the marker gives the error between the + sign and
the circle.
10.11 Daily Laser Alignment Calibration Test
ViewRay recommends that a plastic MRI contrasting rectangular phantom with
dimensions of at least 10 cm on all sides be scribed along its central planes and used
for laser QA testing as follows:
1. Carefully align the phantom to the virtual isocenter using the lasers.
2. Send the phantom to the machine
isocenter
3. Take a planning scan of the phantom.
T
he contrasting region will be autocontoured as a “skin” contour.
