MVW01 WC (WATER COOLED)
6 MVW01 WC (WATER COOLED)
The line MVW01 water cooled is a variable frequency inverter destined to control medium voltage motors with nominal voltages of 3300 V, 4160
V, 6300 V and 6900 V, with a power range from 1500 to 33760 HP. It uses non-controlled semiconductors (diodes) at the input rectifier stage
and controlled semiconductors (HV-IGBTs) to generate the three output phases at the inverter stage, in order to control the medium voltage
motor speed and torque.
The MVW01 WC inverter line uses the same topology as the MVW01 The water cooled MVW01 version is perfect for high demanding and high
power applications, such as environments with adverse conditions. It is also the ideal solution for applications where the hot air can not be
dissipated and an air conditioner is not a commercially viable solution.
The line MVW01 WC is equiped with the WEG refrigeration system (RSW) of high efficiency which uses two independent water circuits, based
on the principle of thermal exchange between liquids. The primary circuit carries the heat generated by the MVW01 to the heat exchanger.
The secondary circuit carries the heat from the heat exchanger to an external refrigeration system.
The water circuits are reliable and provided with quick couplers with retenction, that prevents water from falling inside the panel, even during
maintenance. The water cooling system is equiped with redundant pumps to guarantee continuous operation.
The MVW01 WC presents protections against overload, short-circuit, phase loss, output current limitation, undervoltage, overvoltage, overtem-
perature, ground fault, underpressure, overpressure, liquid leak detection, and independent fault monitoring for each HV-IGBT. The control type
can be selected by the user, between scalar control (constant V/f ratio) and vector control (with sensorless or encoder feedback).
