ZGMPisZTEGroupManageProtocol.Aclusterisacombination
consistingofasetofswitchesinaspecicbroadcastdomain.This
setofswitchesformsauniedmanagementdomain,providing
anexternalpublicnetworkIPaddressandmanagementinterface,
aswellastheabilitytomanageandaccesseachmemberinthe
cluster .
Themanagementswitchwhichisconguredwithapublicnetwork
IPaddressiscalledacommandswitch.Otherswitchesserveas
memberswitches.Innormalcases,amemberswitchisnotcon-
guredwithapublicnetworkIPaddress.Aprivateaddressisallo-
catedtoeachmemberswitchthroughtheclassDHCPfunctionof
thecommandswitch.Thecommandswitchandmemberswitches
formacluster(privatenetwork).
Itisrecommendedthatyouisolatethebroadcastdomainbetween
thepublicnetworkandtheprivatenetworkonthecommandswitch
andshielddirectaccesstotheprivateaddress.Thecommand
switchprovidesanexternalmanagementandmaintenancechan-
neltomanagetheclusterinacentralizedmanner .
Ingeneral,thebroadcastdomainwhereaclusterislocated
consistsofswitchesintheseroles:Commandswitch,member
switches,candidateswitchesandindependentswitches.
Oneclusterhasonlyonecommandswitch.Thecommandswitch
canautomaticallycollectthedevicetopologyandsetupacluster .
Afteraclusterissetup,thecommandswitchprovidesaclus-
termanagementchanneltomanagememberswitches.Member
switchesserveascandidateswitchesbeforetheyjointhecluster .
Theswitchesthatdonotsupportclustermanagementarecalled
independentswitches.
