GARPisakindofgenericattributeregistrationprotocol,which
distributesVLANandmulticastMACaddressdynamicallytothe
memberinthesameswitchingnetworkbyapplyingthedifferent
applicationprotocols.
GVRPGARPVLANRegistrationProtocolisakindofapplicationpro-
tocoldenedbyGARP ,whichmaintainsVLANinformationinswitch
dynamicallybasedonGARPprotocolmechanism.Allswitchessup-
portingGVRPcanreceivetheVLANregistrationinformationfrom
otherswitchesandupdatelocalVLANregistrationinformationdy-
namicallyincludingthecurrentVLANonthisswitchandtheports
inthisVLAN.AlsoallswitchessupportingGVRPcanbroadcastthe
localVLANregistrationinformationtootherswitches,sothat,the
VLANcongurationsofalldeviceswithGVRPinthesameswitching
networkhavetheconsistentinterworkingaccordingtodemand.
