CableLightningProtection
Requirements
Accordingtothedegreeofhazard,lightningisclassiedintodi-
rectlightningstrikeandlightninginduction.Thedamageofdirect
lightningstrikeishardtoavoid.Butproperlightningprotection
measurecaneffectivelypreventthelightninginduction.Thefol-
lowinglightningprotectionrequirementsareproposedtoreduce
theequipmentfailurerateintheareaswherelightningisfrequent.
1.TheEthernetswitchshallbeplacedinthecorridor ,preferably
ontherstoor .Toavoidthedirectsunshine,rains,and
lightning,theswitchcannotstayinanoutdoorplacewhere
noweather-proofmeasuresaretaken.Ensurethatallsub-
scriberlines,excepttheuplink,downlink,andcascadinglines,
aredistributedinsidethebuildingtoavoidtheattackoflight-
ninginduction.
