Chapter 8. Point of Sale (POS)
Y = Alert the operator if the quantity entered exceeds the on hand quantity by
beeping and continuing with the ticket.
N = Do not alert operator of on hand exceeded.
S = Alert the operator of on hand exceeded by beeping and displaying:
Out Of Stock - Do You Wish To Continue? (Y/N):
The operator would then decide how to proceed with the line:
Y = Continue with the line even though the computer is showing
out of stock.
N = Enter the line again.
This is the store default. This feature can also be password account
specific if you wish some password accounts to be set up differently.
11. Low Margin Variance
Enter the percentage of allowable low variance from the expected gross margin as
entered in the Inventory Static Data File (IM1.D). If the gross margin for any
given inventory item on a POS ticket is less than the expected margin minus the
low margin percent, it is flagged on day end reports as below margin (
“M-“ will
print next to the lines/transactions falling below this variance).
12. High Margin Variance
Enter the percentage of allowable high variance from the expected gross margin.
Opposite of
Low Margin Variance.
9 After changing the entry, the computer asks:
Save Changes <Y/N>?
Enter Y if all entries are correct. Or enter N to not make the changes.
10 Press Esc when the cursor is at
1. Stop at Price to return to the Sales Entry Options
Menu
. If needed, change the other stores.

11 From the Sales Entry Options Menu, select 4 for POS Back Screen.
12 The computer displays the POS Back Screen Options screen:
