Appendix C
29. Misc Code-1 Optional (1 character). This field is user-defined.
You can code this item and then print reports using
the select optional field.
30. Misc Code-2 Same as Misc Code-1.
31. Assoc # 1. This field holds an associated number which
corresponds to a list of items which are associated
with this item. For example, if the item is paint,
it can be assigned an associated number which
lists items such as brushes, drop cloths, rollers,
and paint pans that could be sold along with the
paint.
2. The items listed under the associated number are
set up in the IM10.D file, Associated Numbers.
Use Maintain Associated Items to generate and
maintain associated numbers.
3. In POS when you select an item with an
associated number in this field, the computer will
display
A=Assoc at GOOD/BAD LINE. Enter A to
display the associated items which can be selected
to sell as well.
Inventory Store Data File (IM2.D) Fields:
32. Non Perpet 1. Y = this item is not kept in stock perpetually. It is
a special order or non-stock item and is controlled
only by dollars (sales and cost). After you start to
maintain a perpetual inventory, the only non-
perpetual items should be special order items For
special order items, you must do inventory
receiving to receive the dollar value into the
inventory. Point of Sale invoicing will reduce the
dollar value by the cost of the sale. The value
received and the value sold should be the same.
Great care must be given when setting up and
using non-perpetual items. Once an item is set up
as non-perpetual, do not change it to perpetual
unless the dollar value and average cost are zero.
If you do so, the computer will have difficulty in
computing average cost for items received after
the field has been changed.
2. N = this item is kept in stock perpetually.
3. 7 = same as Y except used for non-inventory items
such as labor or treating. These items are often
used as component parts in fabricated items. The
item would be set up as follows:
Type (0-7) = 3
Conv Factor = convert LF to BF
Price = per 1000
33. No History Y = do not save the 13 month history for this item.
N = save the 13-month history for this item. Most
items will probably be kept in this history
(IM3.D).
