Printer Trouble Shooting
This section presents standard trouble-shooting information for printers.
The following procedure outlines the steps you should take if you have a
printer failure (for example, it won’t come on in the morning or it stops
printing).
Procedure:
1 Check that it is plugged in and turned on.
2 Check that it is on line.
3 Check all cable connections (back of printer, wall jacks, back of computer).
4 Turn printer off and on to reset defaults.
5 Check that the paper is not jammed. Re-feed if necessary.
6 Check to see if the green lights appear. If not, check the fuse and change if
necessary.
7 Check set up defaults and change as necessary.
8 Move printer to a working printer port to verify that the printer is bad and
not the port. If the port is bad, call Dimensions hardware support.
9 If possible, re-boot the system. All users must be signed off the system.
10 Call Dimensions hardware support after trying
all of the above.
