Enable Bi-directional Analysis Feature (see “Navigating Through Event Setting Menu” on page
22 for details).
In the example screens below:
End 1 location is named ‘MDF’;
End 2 location is named ‘IDF’
Route name is ‘MDF_IDF’
1. Test the complete cable from the rst end at one or more wavelengths as needed.
Test from End 1:
Connect OTDR to a cable to be tested at End 1.
In the Job Setting page, set the ‘OTDR Located At’ parameter to End 1

Notice that Home page indicates OTDR location at MDF

Test each ber (1 to X bers) at End 1.
Notice that the Trace page header displays “Not Saved” status and the currently tested ber
name “MDF-IDF-SM 12F_001”

indicating test direction “MDF-IDF”.
Press the Save key to save the currently displayed test result.
Note: Save each ber test result before proceeding to the next ber number.
Notice that the Trace page header changes to display “Saved”
