Bi-directional Analysis Operation
Test the Complete Cable in Opposite Direction
1. Once all bers are tested in the rst direction (End 1, MDF location), move the OTDR to the
other end (End 2, IDF location).
2. At the second end make the following adjustments:
• Connect the OTDR to a ber to be tested from End 2.
• On the Job Settings page, set ‘OTDR Located At’ parameter to End 2

• Test each ber from End 2.
• Notice that the Trace page header displays “Not Saved” status and the currently tested ber
name “IDF-MDF-SM 12F_001”

indicating opposite test direction “IDF-MDF”.
• Press the Save key to save the currently displayed test result.
Note: Save each fiber test result before proceeding to the next fiber number.
• Notice that page header changes to display “Saved”

OTDR location at IDF.

indicates OTDR
location at End 2.
