2-16 System Settings
To access the System menu, press the Shift key, then the System (8) key. Refer to
Chapter 6, “System Operations ”.
Power On Self Test
At power on, the VNA Master runs through a series of quick checks to ensure that the system
hardware is functioning properly. Refer to “Power On Self Test” on page 6-14 and to “Self
Test” on page 6-4.
Vector Network Analyzer Mode
The “Application Options Menu (VNA Mode)” on page 6-5 contains the selections for Units,
External Reference, Trace Label, Measurement Gain Range, and Time Domain (if applicable).
Time Domain
When the Time Domain Option (Option 2) is enabled, certain aspects of the measurements
are determined by the settings in this menu. Refer to the Vector Network Analyzer
Measurement Guide (listed in Appendix A) for a detailed description of this menu.
Spectrum Analyzer Mode
The “Application Options Menu (SPA Mode)” on page 6-7 contains the Impedance setting
selection and an Auto Ref Level selection.
Frequency Blanking
This feature is available with Option 7 installed. Refer to “Frequency Blanking” on page 4-5.
Power–On and Power Switch Feature
This feature allows you to turn instrument power off and on from a remote location. Refer to
“System Options Menu” on page 6-8, “System Options 2/2 Menu” on page 6-12, and
“Power–On Menu” on page 6-13.
Remote Access Password
This security feature is described in “System Options 2/2 Menu” on page 6-12.
