5 Functions on Module
5.1 RTC
BIOS SETUP data is stored in a non volatile Flash memory therefore all configuration data (except for time and date) will be retained during RTC-
Power loss.
5.2 Solid State Drive (SSD)
When using the on-module SSD SATA device, it should be taken into consideration that the lifetime of the device is affected by the number of
read/write and erase cycles. It is not recommended to use SSD storage devices with applications which are continually storing large amounts of data.
Inadvertent power interrupts can corrupt the firmware and data integrity of the SATA NANDrive. It is recommended to use a sufficient buffering of the
supply voltage and to shut down the OS before powering down.
The SSD device uses MLC (Multi Level Cell) technology. There is a tool which can be used for estimating the lifetime of this memory, please contact
MSC Technical Support for more details.
