Chapter 5 Getting Started
Installation Overview
Length Considerations: Overall Bay Length
Bay length is defined as the distance along the centerline of the machine required for the Cube®
to operate without any obstructions. The spinning wheels should not be able to hit conduits,
cables, or any other equipment that may be mounted to the wall such as chemical pumps, etc.
This length does not include a Dryer, Rocker Spin Cleans, or other in-bay equipment.
Note: The following length considerations will determine what length Rails are recommended for
the wash bay.
The Cube® Frame Assembly is available in three different lengths 28’, 30’ and 32’. The car wash
bay length is a key factor in selecting which Cube® Frame length to use in a wash application.
Required bay lengths for each of the Cube® Frame Assemblies are as follows:
• 28’ Frame Length: 33’-9”’ minimum bay length.
• 30’ Frame Length: 35’-9” minimum bay length.
• 32’ Frame Length: 37’-9” minimum bay length.
Refer to the images on the following pages for clarification on overall bay length considerations.
The different frame lengths are obtained by changing the length of the entrance and exit rails. A
28’ Cube® Frame Assembly will consist of 14’ rail lengths for both the Entrance and Exit Rails.
The 30’ Cube® Frame Assembly will consist of 14’ rails for the Entrance Rails and 16’ rails for
the Exit Rails. And, the 32’ Cube® Frame Assembly will consist of 16’ rail lengths for both the
Entrance and Exit Rails.
Length Considerations: Clearance from Entrance to Load Carriage on Rails
It is recommended to have enough clearance at the entrance of the bay to raise the Carriage
with a forklift and set it on the Entrance Rails. The clearance required is 68-1/4”, this is measured
from the front foot face of the baseplate to the entrance wall. This dimension allows for the length
of the Carriage Assembly plus the width of the forklift mast. See the image below.
If the clearance from the entrance wall to where the Carriage slides onto the Entrance Rails is
too small for the Carriage to fit, less than 68-1/4”, the entrance rail opposite the CAT track side
will need to be removed and the Carriage will be loaded onto the Exit Rails.
