Chapter 6 Frame and Carriage Assembly
Frame Assembly: Position Frame in Bay
Note: In a large building, the machine should be centered to the door if possible.
Note: In a small building, the legs can be set right up against the wall if necessary. The corner clamps
are located in their final position when the frame is in the air.
Establish Lines in Bay to Position the Frame Assembly
1) Find the center of the entrance door opening. Measure the width of the entrance door
opening, divide the measurement in half to find the center of the opening. Measure and
mark the center of the entrance door opening on the floor.
2) Find the center of the Exit door opening. Measure and mark the center of the exit door
opening on the floor.
3) Drill a hole and put a screw at the center of both the entrance and exit door openings.
4) Tie a string line between the screws to establish the centerline of vehicle travel through the
bay.
Note: From the established centerline between the doors the location
for the driver side and passenger side rails will be determined.
Drill a hole and put a screw at the center
of both doors. Tie a string between the
screws to establish a centerline.
