Chapter 6 Frame and Carriage Assembly
Carriage Placement on Frame Assembly: Preferred Method
1) Four (4) people are needed to safely load the Carriage and Cable Carrier onto the
Entrances Rails of the Frame. The responsibilities of each person are as follows:
➢ Person 1: Drive the forklift.
➢ Person 2: Initially support the Cable Carrier and Cables. Then support the cables, hoses,
and airlines once the Cable Carrier is on the CAT Supports to prevent the lines from
dragging on the ground.
➢ Person 3: Needs to continue to guide the Cable Carrier onto each CAT Support and verify
the Carriage Rollers are adequately on the Entrance Rail.
➢ Person 4: Will be on the opposite side of the Frame to verify the Carriage Rollers are
adequately on the Entrance Rail.
2) Using the Forklift raise the Carriage Assembly up and maneuver the forklift to just in front of
the Entrance Rails.
3) Locate the Cable Carrier on the Carriage, carefully remove the tie straps that kept it rolled
up, shown below, during shipping.
Use a spotter to help position the Carriage
as you raise it up and guide it onto the
Rails. Be sure to keep the forks level.
