Chapter 6 Frame and Carriage Assembly
Frame Assembly: Attaching Leg Assemblies
1) Two (2) forklifts are necessary to safely lift the upper portion of the Frame and attach the six
(6) Leg Assemblies. A Genie Lift cab be substituted if two lifts are unable to fit in the bay.
2) Place one forklift under the Entrance Head Beam in the center and one under the Exit Head
Beam in the center. Raise the frame up slightly and secure the Frame to the forks with C-
clamps, shown below.
3) Carefully lift the Frame Assembly up to the desired height. The Exit Rail and Exit Head Beam
should measure 107” from the underside of the Rail and Head Beam to the floor. The
Entrance and Middle Head Beams should measure 127-1/8”.
When lifting the frame with forklifts, secure the head beams to each of the forks with
clamps. This will prevent the frame from sliding forward or backward.
