Chapter 6 Frame and Carriage Assembly
Frame Assembly: Attaching Leg Assemblies
9) Orient the Exit Legs as specified in Step 6 and place them into the Leg Clamps on the Exit
Head Beam. Using the Half Clamps and fasteners tighten the Clamp Assemblies around
each Leg Assembly.
10) Once the Frame is secure, unclamp the Head Beams from the forklift and lower the forks
slightly.
11) Measure the height of the Rails from the ground in several locations and verify that the Rails
are level for the entire length of the Frame Assembly.
12) If the Rails are not level and/or the minimum height to the bottom of the Rails is not 107” do
the following to level the Rails:
➢ Raise the forklifts up again and secure the Head Beams to the forks.
➢ Loosen the necessary Leg Clamps on the Leg Assemblies.
➢ Move the Leg Clamps accordingly on the Legs while raising or lowering the Head
Beams with the forklifts as necessary to level the Rails.
➢ Make sure to maintain the minimum 107” height requirement from the floor to the
underside of the Rails.
➢ Once the Frame Assembly is level and at the proper height, tighten the Leg Clamps,
lower the forks and back the forklifts away from the Frame Assembly.
Orient the Exit Leg Assemblies as shown
below, place them in Leg Clamps and tighten
the Clamp Assemblies around each Leg.
