Chapter 6 Frame and Carriage Assembly
Carriage Prep
Disengage the Roller Drive
3) Slide the Couplings inward onto the Drive Shaft. Remove the Keys that connect the Drive
Shaft to the Roller Shafts and set them aside.
Note: When sliding the Couplings inward, the Keys may fall from the keyways of the connecting shafts.
Set the Keys aside until instructed to reinstall them later.
Note: Keep in mind that the Keys will need to be reinstalled upon completion of the installation process.
4) The Drive Shaft will hang down slightly while it is disconnected, to prevent the Couplings
from sliding off, slightly tighten the Coupling Bolts to secure the Couplings to the Drive
Shaft.
Note: The Carriage can now roll freely up and down the rails.
Note: DO NOT RE-INSTALL THE KEYS AND COUPLINGS UNTIL THE LAST STEP IN THIS
CHAPTER AFTER THE CARRIAGE HAS BE PLACED ON THE RAILS.
