Replacing the transfer belt
cleaner

Turn off the machine’s power switch.

Open the scanner unit.

Open the inside cover of the machine so
that it latches under the scanner unit.

Remove the transfer belt cover.

Remove the transfer belt cleaner by
grasping the handle and lifting it up.

Clean the area where the new transfer
belt cleaner is to be installed with a dry
cotton cloth.
CAUTION
Both ends of the transfer belt cleaner roller
consist of metal bearings that connect the
bias element to the power supply. These
must be connected properly when you
install the transfer belt cleaner. Be sure to
check how to connect them properly by
looking at the old transfer belt cleaner
before you begin replacement.
