causeskincancer.Avoidlongtermcontactandwash
theskinpromptlywithsoapandwater.

andobeysignalmen,roadsigns,andagmen.

Knowandusethehandsignalsrequiredforparticular
jobs,andknowwhohastheresponsibilityforsignaling.

watches,longhair,andotherlooseorhangingitems
canbecomeentangledinmovingparts.

Wearprotectiveequipmentwhenappropriate.Hard
hats,protectiveglasses,protectiveshoes,gloves,re-
ectortypevests,respirators,andearprotectionare
examplesofequipmentthatmayberequired.

Walkaroundtheworkareabeforeyoustartandlookfor
hazards.Noteandavoidallhazardsandobstructions
suchasditches,undergroundlines,trees,cliffs,over-
headelectricalwires,orareaswherethereisdangerof
aslide.
•
Donotoperatethemachineifyoudonotfeelwell.This
canbedangerousforyouandforthepeoplearound
you.
•
Donotoperatethemachinewhileundertheinuence
ofalcohol,drugs,orwhileotherwiseimpaired.
•
OSHArequirementsmakeittheemployer’srespon-
sibilitytofullyinstructeachoperatorintheproper
andsafeoperationofalloperativeequipment.Both
employerandemployeeshouldthoroughlyfamiliar-
izethemselveswiththismanualandtheAEMsafety
booklet.
