How to resolve a 'Paper Jam' error on my Contex Scanner?
    • T
      Taylor HarrisSep 12, 2025
A 'Paper Jam' error occurs when the scanner stops scanning and the Paper-Ready key shuts OFF (from blinking). To resolve this: * Remove the original from the scanner using the Paper-Back or Paper-Forward keys. * If the original doesn't respond to the Paper Forward/Back keys, remove the pressure-platen and take the original out of the scanning area. * Select the Soft-handling option in your scanning application. * Try feeding the document again to scan.

    • C
      Caleb OsborneSep 12, 2025
If the scanner appears incorrectly installed after receiving the "Unknown device is found" message, it's likely because you connected and tried to install the scanner before installing WIDEsystem. To fix this: 1. Remove the scanner entry from the Device Manager. 2. Shut down the PC, scanner and disconnect the scanner from the PC. 3. Reboot the PC and install WIDEsystem and Maintenance software.

Why WIDEsystem does not detect my Contex scanner?
    • K
      Kenneth HillSep 10, 2025
If WIDEsystem doesn't detect the scanner, it could be due to: * An older WIDEsystem driver version. Install the WIDEsystem drivers from the CD-ROM that came with your scanner. * WIDEsystem drivers were not installed before connecting the scanner. Shut down the scanner and PC, unplug the connections, and restart the installation from step 1. * A loose interface connection. Unplug and firmly plug in the interface cable. * The system needing a reboot. Shut down the scanner and PC, unplug the connections. Then plug in the interface connections, turn on the PC, and when Windows is loaded, turn on the scanner.

Why are the application control keys not working on my Contex Scanner?

      Timothy SpencerSep 5, 2025
If the application control keys (one touch) do not work on your Contex scanner, check the One Touch setup entries in WIDEsystem. Also, check that the applications defined in the WIDEsystem One Touch setup entries are installed on your PC and that they are actually designed to work with your scanner’s application control keys.

Why are image sections misaligned on my Contex GX67D?
    • J
      Jessica HillSep 4, 2025
If you are experiencing stitching problems with your Contex scanner, resulting in misaligned image sections (overlapping pixels), remove the original from the scanner, turn the power off and then on to reboot so the scanner runs its self-test procedure. You can also remove the original from the scanner and run full scanner maintenance. It may also help to modify stitching parameters through your scanning application.
