ACK NAK Retry Count
This feature specifies the number of times the reader retries a label transmission due to a retry
condition. The selectable range is from 1 to 254 retries. A selection of 0 disables the count, and
a selection of 255 specifies unlimited retries.
To set this feature:
1. Determine the desired setting.
2. Pad the number with leading zeroes to yield three digits. For example: 0 = 000, 5 = 005,
20 = 020, etc.
3. Scan the ENTER/EXIT PROGRAMMING MODE bar code to enter Programming
Mode.
4. Scan the bar code: SELECT ACK NAK RETRY COUNT SETTING.
5. Scan the appropriate three digits from the keypad in Appendix E, Keypad, that repre-
sent the number which was determined in the steps above. You will hear a two-beep indi-
cation after the last character.
6. Scan the ENTER/EXIT PROGRAMMING MODE bar code to exit Programming
Mode.
This completes the procedure. See Ta ble 1 1 for some examples of how to set this feature.

to abort and not save the entry string. You can then start again at the begin-
