Keyboard Send Control Characters
This feature is used by the Keyboard Wedge and USB Keyboard interfaces. It specifies how the
reader transmits ASCII control characters to the host. Reference Appendix F, Scancode
Ta bles for more information about control characters.
Options are as follows:
Send Ctrl+Key — ASCII characters from 00H to 0x1FH inclusive are transmitted in the for-
mat Ctrl+Key. Special keys are available in the range from 81H to A1.
Send Ctrl+Shift+Key — The behavior is the same as above, but control keys are sent in the
format Ctrl+Shift+Keys.
Send Special Function Key — Send characters between 00H and 1FH according to the spe-
cial function key mapping table (see Microsoft Windows Codepage 1252 on page 310).
This is used to send keys that are not in the normal ASCII set. A unique set is provided for each
available scancode set.
