Disturbance
Disturbances caused by an incorrect setting:
• Increased knife wear when the pressure is too great
• Problems when sewing if the hook thread clamp is too high
• Problems in cutting the thread
To set the cutting pressure:
1. Open the throat plate slide ( p. 20)
2. Turn the handwheel until the thread-pulling knife (4) can be swung out
by hand.
3. Loosen the screw (1).
4. Loosen screws (6) on the hook thread clamp (3).
5. Loosen the screws (5).
6. Push the thread-pulling knife (4) to the left until the thread-pulling
knife (4) can pass freely between the bobbin and the nose of the bobbin
housing.
7. Tighten the screws (5).
8. Turn the counter blade (2).
The counter blade (2) lies lightly on the back third of the thread-pulling
knife (4).
9. Tighten the screw (1).
10. Move the hook thread clamp (3).
The hook thread clamp (3) lies lightly on the back third of the thread-
pulling knife (4).
11. Tighten the screws (6).
12. Perform a function test and correct the setting, if necessary.
