7.2 Setting the eccentric for the forward and backward stitches
Proper setting
The forward and backward stitches are the same length. As a test, sew
a seam forward on a sheet of paper, stop, and sew a seam backward.
The insertions of the forward and backward stitches have to lie within one
another.

To set the eccentric (3):
1. Loosen the threaded pin (1).
2. Turn the eccentric (3) from the right through the opening in the base
plate:
Initial position:
The slot of the eccentric (3) is flush with the threaded pin (1) and par-
allel to the belt. The open side (2) of the slot points toward the thread-
ed pin (1).
3. If the forward and backward stitches are not the same length:
• Turning clockwise:
The forward stitch becomes larger, the backward stitch smaller.
• Turning counterclockwise:
The forward stitch becomes smaller, the backward stitch larger.
4. Re-tighten the threaded pin (1).
