3.5 External power supply unit
Use the power supply unit iPD-240-24V (optional accessory) or procure the DC power supply unit
which satisfies following specifications at your company for power supply to the STP pump.
Rated output voltage +24V DC+/-10%
Rated output current 240 W or more
CAUTION
The above output voltage specification is the voltage specification on the power receiving end side
of the DC power cable. When preparing a DC power supply unit at your company, consider voltage
drop caused by connection cable, set the voltage of the power supply unit.
For example, when passing 7 A through AWG 16 wires with a length of 20 m, a voltage drop of
about 4 V will occur. When passing 7 A through AWG 18 wires with a length of 10 m, a voltage drop
of about 3 V will occur.
Note: The external power supply unit is not included. Procure it at your company or contact the
distributor when purchasing the power supply unit iPD-240-24V.
Note: Refer to the Instruction Manual of the power supply unit iPD-240-24V for operating the power
supply unit iPD-240-24V.
3.6 DC power cable
WARNING
When connecting/disconnecting cables, always power off the primary power and
isolate (Lockout/Tagout) the electrical energy source, water and gas, and other
energy sources on the vacuum equipment. Failure to do so may result in the
inadvertent rotation of the STP pump which may result in an accident, an electric
shock or damage to equipment. Moreover, an accident caused by water leaks or gas
leak may occur.
CAUTION
Use the power cable that Edwards has specified. The use of other cables may result in product
damage.
CAUTION
Confirm the power voltage on the label. Connect the power cable securely to prevent incorrect
wiring.
